So I did a bunch of sketches.

Notes about my day...for Wil Wheaton.
So in the late morning, Josh called me from Emerald City ComicCon to tell me that he was going to be meeting Wil Wheaton in just a few short minutes and that he was going to put him on the phone for me, since I'm a big fan of Wil. I was quite excited, but a few short minutes turned out to be longer than he thought, so he let me go and called me back about five minutes later and I talked to Wil Wheaton. It wasn't a very long conversation. He told me that he was surrounded by thousands of people in a convention hall and I said I wasn't surrounded by thousands of people because I was still in bed, and then we joked about how that wouldn't be a very restful environment anyway. He had to go because well...he didn't come all the way to Emerald City ComicCon to talk to me on the phone, but he said I should take notes about my day and we'd compare later.
While I'm pretty sure he didn't actually intend to compare notes about our days with me, I went ahead and took notes anyway.
I wrote them down in a composition notebook I originally intended for story notes and sketches for my zombie comic.
My Day - for Wil Wheaton
At approximately 12:00 I talked to Wil Wheaton on the phone. It was pretty sweet and I was very excited. He was nice and funny, and I hope I didn't sound like...retarded or something.
At about 12:07 I posted on a forum I frequent that I talked to Wil Wheaton on the phone. I was still quite excited about having gotten to talk to him and wanted to tell my friends about it.
12:10 - Daniel does not believe I talked to Wil Wheaton. I told him I did so talk to Wil Wheaton IN YOUR FACE
12:20-12:35 - Spent unsuccessfully doodling. Will come back to it later, I guess.
12:40 - Played Pokemon Pinball and listened to a bunch of Death Cab.
Fuck this time recording bullshit. I'll take notes and you can just make up a time that suits you, really.
After Pokemon Pinball I lurked Fark for a bit and then attempted again to draw. It was another unsuccessful endeavor, though this time it was on paper and not on the computer. Then I updated my blog. I guess that has a timestamp, though...so you can't really make up a time for that.
I spent some time lurking the internets and listening to music before deciding to head out for an adventure. Now for those of you not in the know, adventures are my cute little name for walks so that they become more interesting. Going for a walk is nice, but going for an adventure is well...it's exciting! I'm adventuring! I'm seeing the world and it's grand! Even on a route I've walked a million times before I have a good time because it's an adventure, not something mundane like a walk. Usually I take a camera and I post the pictures up for my friends to see and make up a story as I upload and type. But since this was My Day - for Wil Wheaton, and I told him I'd write things as they happened instead of bullshitting them at the end of the day I went right ahead and wrote things down. Do you hear that, Wil Wheaton? I changed it up a bit just for you.
I started out on my adventure much the way I start on any other adventure. I leave the house and walk up the street. Only I forgot my camera and had to turn right back around to go get it. Once I retrieved my camera I re-began my adventure!
Now, when I leave on an adventure I don't normally start out with a destination in mind. I just walk and take pictures and end up wherever I end up. If I had a clear goal in mind it wouldn't be an adventure. It would be a quest. And while there's nothing inherently wrong with quests...or goals in general, this is an adventure.
I ducked through a hole in a fence and into the park that's just a block or two from my house. This certainly isn't where I meant to end my adventure, but I felt it was a good starting point. It's a very sunny day out and is quite warm. There are some people at the park, but not too many. I'm listening to The Aquabats - Lobster Bucket and so far it's a very good day.
Adventures are actually quite relaxed. I take lots of short breaks and reflect on the things that I see or what goes on around me. I don't like to rush all the excitement. Too much excitement at once can actually physically crush a person. I should know, I've seen it happen.
After a great deal of walking with no notes being taken, because it's quite hard to both write and walk at once and there were few places for me to sit and reflect after I left the park, I ended up at this other park I used to spend time at when I was younger. It's just across the street from the house where I first met Josh, and I spent many nights as a stupid teen sitting on the play place here. That was over six years ago and the park hasn't changed a bit.
This place is always in the back of my mind, but being here is weird. Like stumbling into a place you've only ever dreamt about. Somewhere you weren't quite sure was actually real or remembered correctly.
I'm sitting in this one little patch of sunshine. Almost everything else around me is shadowed by those trees.
I wonder why I came here.
After that I went home and the rest of my day was really just more of the same. Nothing else to really write about.
I hope Wil Wheaton actually reads this!

- Caught another Machop. I don't need another Machop.
- Caught Onix.
- Caught Meowth. Evolved it to Persian. Lost my final ball with 74mil points.
- Ugh...Caterpie. Evolved Caterpie to Metapod
- Caught Rattata.
- Caught Pidgey
- Another Caterpie? For fuck's sake.
- Ended with 155mil points, and a high score.
- Game did not save. FFFFFFFUUUUUU--

Have a picturedump.
Here's a bunch of stuff I've done recently. And an update on where the fuck I've been.
Most of the time I've either been out with friends (mostly Josh, but occasionally Posey and even my sister sometimes). Yesterday, however, I called up the food bank to ask about volunteer work and will be going in on Wednesday morning to hopefully start that up! I also got a haircut a while ago, but I don't know if that's really noteworthy.
In addition to that I went on quite the adventure with my sister and Posey. We went to Cape Flattery on the Olympic Peninsula. The experience was unlike any other. Standing on the edges of cliffs and feeling so tiny compared to everything around you...and then knowing that this huge chunk of earth is only one squintillionth of what's out there to see. I can't even describe how amazing that felt, or how much it fueled the desire to see the world I already had.
If you're interested in seeing more photos from the trip, here you go. (This isn't all the pictures, but rather just some of my favorites from both the hike and the final destination)

Most of these photos were taken by my sister.
We also took a detour through Forks where she kicked a Twilight sign.
Aside from that, I've also been playing a lot of Fallout 3, and having a fucking blast with it. I'm not very far because I don't have the attention span to stick to the main storyline. I've mostly been dicking around the wasteland and trying to level up and do side quests.
I've also picked up Dead Space, but have made even less headway with that. Mostly because I scare easily and the game has literally made me scream. I can't play it alone, and have to coordinate when I want to play it with when my younger sister comes home.
In other game news, I got my DS back from Josh after god knows how long, and my sister got punched from the rooftop of a building by the Tank in L4D the last time we played Dead Air.
I've also started working on my zombie comic, though admittedly it's still only in the planning stages. I've asked my friend if he'd like to write for it (since I possess no talent for the art of writing and must stick to the visual media) and he's expressed interest. Unfortunately we don't get to talk very often so progress is slow. We've been working out character information and the basic premise of the story. In addition to Natalie we've added a few others to the cast. I've also recently decided that I'd like to use Savoy (on the right/the mascot for my website) in the comic somehow, but I have not yet had the opportunity to tell my writer about her.
Along with this lovely picture of Savoy post mortem, I also did a collaboration with a new friend from the oekaki I frequent.
He did some absolutely amazing color work for my line art. I nearly died when I saw his work in progress for this. The bite wound on her arm and the scratches on her shoulder are fucking gorgeous (or as gorgeous as such gory things can be).
I'm very excited to do more collabs with him in the future.
If you'd like to see more of his art, check out his DeviantArt (though it looks like it's been quite a while since he last updated), or more of his oekaki work.
And because I just can't stop drawing zombies, I also did a self-portrait that I'm particularly fond of.
Well I guess that's all for now. A lot of these pictures were also updated on my website (along with a handful of others not featured here!) so go check that out as well!

Sorry I didn't update for like 10 days.
WIP for Apoc. It's the most work I've done on anything the past week and a half, I'm sorry to say.
Between being sick, being busy, and being out of ideas it's the best I can do.
I am liking how this is coming out, though. I need to fix the foot because the way it is makes the leg look a bit too stiff. But otherwise, I think it looks pretty good.

Day 18 - Believe Me Natalie
Alright, first let me start off by saying that I'm ridiculously ill. I'm achey and feverish and ugh...it's just fucking terrible. I would like to just curl up and die. ):
While I was drawing this, I was sore all over and about halfway through coloring the pants I literally could no longer feel my hands. They were 100% numb. Holy hell it was so hard to work with. ):
Regardless, the picture came out really nicely. Exactly as I intended it to look, in fact. Sure there's room for improvement (there always is), but for once I'm completely happy with something.
The character is Natalie Davin, the main character for a zombie comic I've been trying to motivate myself to work on.
You can view the animation for this here.

Day 17 - A real, actual update! Oh my!
Funny story about this picture. It wasn't supposed to be Vittoria...and it wasn't supposed to be naked. But that seems to be where my doodles lead me lately.
Originally I intended this to be Pokemon art. I spent about 8 hours playing Pokemon Crystal for some nostalgia yesterday, and wanted to draw me as a Pokemon trainer with my Drowzee. But then I started off on this and couldn't stop myself.
I'm actually insanely proud of it. I know it doesn't look much better than any of my other doodles, but it's special, in that I drew it on oekaki (ShiPainter), which is something I never manage to make look good. Ever.
Normally I excel at clean lineart. I'm a clean linart master. But in oekaki, sadly, my linart looks all woobly and retarded. But not this time! Oh no, not this time! This time apparently I was just tired enough to be ridiculously anal about my lines, though not tired enough to decide to just give up in the middle. Or something. Whatever it was, it worked for once, and I could die happy right now because I was finally successful.
Here is the animation for it, if you'd like to watch me work.
